    Mayor's Diary 11/04/2022

    Mayors Diary

A toast was made and tributes paid to a long-standing supporter of the Abbeyfield retirement homes in Wells.

Elwyn Morris joined the executive committee of Abbeyfield more than 20 years ago following a career in the fire service.  With extensive experience of health and safety, Elwyn advised the committee on all aspects in this field.

In the last three years Elwyn took over the role of chair and oversaw various refurbishments in the home in New Street, including replacing the roof as well as steering the charity through the covid crisis.

Now Elwyn is retiring himself and the trustees and the Mayor thanked him for his valued support and commitment over the two decades.

The event was Abbeyfield’s AGM which was chaired by the Mayor in Wells Town Hall.
