There were two premieres of the new Operation Mincemeat movie - one at the Curzon Mayfair cinema in London, the other at our own Wells Film Centre.
Charles Cholmondeley was one of the key MI5 officers behind this Second World War deception, which saved thousands of Allied lives, and his widow Alison declined an invitation to the Mayfair premiere. So the producers offered her one in her home city of Wells instead. Alison is pictured in the middle of the photo with cinema manager Sally Cooper.
The Mayor recommended that local people see Operation Mincemeat and support our local cinema.
