The sun was shining on Axbridge on Sunday 2nd March for the Civic Service and Awards. The Mayor of Wells, Councillor Jasmine Browne, received a very warm welcome from the Mayor of Axbridge, Cllr Graham Page and enjoyed the company of many other fellow Somerset Mayors and colleagues.

The service included performances from a junior brass ensemble, the Axbridge Street Band, and the Axbridge Singers. The High Sheriff of Somerset, Rob Beckley presented a community award to the Axbridge Football Clubs, a big part of the town's life and an award was also given by Denis Burn, the Deputy Lieutenant to Richard Canham for his work with the local Rotary, along many other organisation in the town. 

The Mayor would like to thank the Mayor of Axbridge for the wonderful hospitality and looks forward to welcoming him and other colleagues and friends to the Wells Civic Service on Sunday 6th April at 3pm in St. Cuthbert’s Church, Wells.
